Rajnish (Raj) Bharadwaj is an executive vice president and head of Cross-Border Governance at Wells Fargo. In this role, Raj manages a team that works with various business lines to ensure a coordinated and cohesive approach to international efforts to support key initiatives across the company enabling international growth that is safe and effective.
Raj joined Wachovia in 2005, leading a series of cross-organizational initiatives to improve operating efficiencies and save $1 billion over three years. Before that, he was a partner at A.T. Kearney, a leading global management consulting firm, where he worked on strategy and operational improvement for financial institutions in Asia, Europe, and North America. He has lived and worked in Canada, India, Mauritius, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Raj holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in commerce from Bombay University in India, and an M.B.A. from Indiana University. Raj serves on the board of trustees for the Echo Foundation, a humanitarian organization, and was recognized by the Charlotte Business Journal as “Charlotte’s Top 40 Under 40.” Raj lives in Charlotte with his wife and two children.

On behalf of the World Affairs Council of Charlotte and our board of directors, I am pleased to invite you to attend the WACC's 2010 Annual Meeting (Garden Party) to be held outdoors at a private home in South Charlotte on Thursday, 6:30 p.m. on June 10th.
Following a report on the WACC’s operations for 2009-2010 by Robert Holcombe, Chairman of the Board of Directors, we will be joined by Rajnish Bharadwaj, EVP, Cross Border Governance from Wells Fargo who will discuss “The Global Financial Markets;” a topic that attracts significant attention today.
